Mr. Burns and Mr. Elliott, along with Shelley Burns, originally conceived plans for Rockville Sportsplex. Both have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the company and the facilities.
Greg Elliott is a former biology teacher and baseball player, having played with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County team and professionally with the Amarillo Dillas, an affiliate with the Cleveland Indians organization. Mr. Elliott was inducted into the UMBC Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998. Mr. Elliott received a Bachelor of Science degree from UMBC and a Master’s degree in education from Western Maryland College (now William McDaniel University). For the past fourteen years, Mr. Elliott has watched over the finances of the company, managing company budgets, dealing with banking institutions, private equity firms, and the budgeting for long-term and short term development projects. Further, he liaises with local government agencies to insure protocol and legal requirements for operations are met. Mr. Elliott, along with Mr. Burns, supervises over thirty full time employees, and over two hundred part-time employees.
Mr. Burns is a former Assistant Professor at Ohio University and Rhode’s Scholar semi-finalist. He was an All-American baseball player at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, who was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1998. Mr. Burns brings fifteen years of business experience to the management group, with more than twenty years of experience playing and instructing baseball, and fourteen years of experience in operating sports camps and leagues. Furthermore, has helped to create and institute various child development programs, like Soccer Bugs, Multi-Sport camp, and Hoopstars. Mr. Burns has helped to centralize operations for the company, making expansion and acquisitions more fluid, and he advises in the construction and development of new projects. Mr. Burns, along with Mr. Elliott, supervises over thirty full time employees, and over two hundred part-time employees.
